Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Daily Solitaire Classic (the "game"), a solitaire game for Windows published by LeetCraft EI ("we", "us"), uses, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question, write to clarence@leetcraft.net.
In short
- There is no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
- Your progress, coins and settings are stored on your PC.
- Leaderboards use an anonymous account with a nickname you can change. We keep your scores to rank them, not the moves you played.
- The free version shows ads. Personalized ads are off unless you turn them on.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use analytics or crash-reporting tools.
1. Information stored on your PC
The game saves your progress (coins, diamonds, level, trophies, statistics, unlocked card backs and tables, the game in progress), your settings and the add-ons you own in its own folder on your PC, along with the key of your anonymous leaderboard account. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us, except as described below. Uninstalling the game deletes it.
2. Leaderboards and the Daily Challenge
The first time the game goes online, our server creates an anonymous account for it. We store:
- a random player ID and a secret key that identify your copy of the game (we only keep a one-way hash of the key);
- your nickname: a random one such as "Sunny1234" until you change it (Leaderboards > Change Name). It is shown publicly on the leaderboards next to your scores, so don't use your real name;
- when the account was created and when the game was last used;
- for each game dealt by our server: the game and variant, the deal number, when it started and finished, and for wins the score, time and number of moves, plus your best result on each leaderboard.
When you win, the game sends the list of moves you played. Our server replays it to check the win is real (this keeps the leaderboards fair), then discards it: only the score, time and move count are kept.
3. Reminders and notifications
Daily gift reminders are on by default. The game schedules them on your PC, at the hour you choose. So that we can also remind you after a few days away (at most five times, from day 8 to day 45 without playing, never more than once a day), the game sends our server the Windows push notification address that Microsoft gives it, your time zone offset and your reminder hour. Messages go through Microsoft's Windows Push Notification Services and contain no personal information.
You can turn reminders off in Options (uncheck "Remind me when my gift is ready"); we then delete the push address. You can also block the game's notifications in Windows Settings.
4. Advertising
The free version shows ads. Some are our own promotions for features of the game and use no data. Video ads and full-screen ads between games come from Liftoff Monetize (formerly Vungle). When the game uses Liftoff, Liftoff's software receives technical information to show, measure and protect ads, such as your IP address, device model and Windows version, language, and which ads were shown or clicked. Liftoff handles this information under its own privacy policy.
Personalized ads are off by default. Unless you check "Personalized ads" in Options, the game tells Liftoff that you don't consent to personalized advertising (GDPR), that you opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (CCPA and other US state laws), and not to use your Windows device identifier. If you check it, Liftoff may use this information to choose ads that match your interests; you can uncheck it at any time. The game also tells Liftoff that it is not directed to children.
Buying "Remove Ads" or the "Sunshine Pass" removes banners and ads between games. Videos you choose to watch for a reward stay available.
5. Purchases
Add-ons are sold through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes the payment under the Microsoft Privacy Statement; we never see your payment details. The game asks the Microsoft Store which add-ons you own and remembers them on your PC. Coins and diamonds stay on your PC and are not sent to us.
6. Who else handles this information
- Cloudflare runs our server and database. Like any web server, it sees your IP address when the game connects. We use the IP address to limit abuse and don't store it in our database; Cloudflare may keep it for a few days in request logs used for security and troubleshooting.
- Microsoft provides the Microsoft Store (downloads, purchases, ratings) and push notifications.
- Liftoff provides ads, as described above.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We don't share your information with anyone else, except if the law requires it.
7. Why we use it (legal bases)
For people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: we use your account, scores and game results to provide the online features you use (performance of a contract); we check wins and limit abuse to keep the game fair and secure (legitimate interests); and personalized ads and reminders rely on your choice in Options, which you can change at any time.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your online account, scores and game results for as long as the account exists, so your rankings and records stay available. We delete them when you delete your online data in the game or ask us to (see below), and we may delete accounts that have not been used for a long time. Weekly and daily leaderboards stop being shown once their week or day is over.
9. Your rights and choices
- Change your nickname at any time in Leaderboards > Change Name.
- Turn reminders and personalized ads on or off in Options.
- Delete your online data at any time in Options > Delete online data. This deletes your nickname, scores and game results from our server and removes you from the leaderboards; your progress on your PC stays.
- To get a copy of your online data, or if you can't use the game, write to clarence@leetcraft.net with your nickname. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We do not sell personal information.
10. Children
The game is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information (for example a real name as a nickname), contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
The game talks to our server over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Account keys are stored as one-way hashes, and access to our systems is restricted.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced in the game or on its Microsoft Store page.
